  Torpedo Car
Using IR to routinely inspect torpedo cars can save the mill thousands of dollars per year. Infrared detects refractory breakdown before it occurs. Identifying “hot spots” using IR also reduces the possibility of molten metal breaking through torpedo car.

  Ladle
Usual ladle life prediction is 35 to 40 heats before changing re-line. With IR inspection re-lining could be extended above 40 heat limit.
